books of inspiration and peace when it comes to childbirth

I have been doing some reading lately. If you are pregnant or interested in childbirth, I would highly recommend these. Now I am not downing the What to Expect When You are Expecting books but I feel those are limited and only breed the mentality that all women experience pregnancy the same. Lets face it, we are all different and there has not been one birth replicated by another.

"As a Birth-Warrior
What do you look like?
What sounds do you make?
What's your battle cry?
How do you show your fearless, fierce nature?
Find the place within yourself where this courage lies."

"When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives mean the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a warm and tender hand. The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing and face with us the reality of our powerlessness, that is a friend who cares."

~Henri Nouwen
