8 is great

It has been a busy month as Jamison is getting more active. I can't keep up with this kid as he is proving to be bored with simple baby toys. All that to say, we are getting creative in what a "toy" is. Right now Jamison loves my camping headlamp. Biggest milestone of this month is that baby JO is sitting on his own. He still topples over every once in awhile but is getting stronger each day and with this comes crawling. Oh how hard he tries with his towered bum in the air. Soon...very soon.

woke up this morning...

One of our favorites...we have been seeing lots of amazing birds outside our window. This has become a morning rhythm for Jamison and I as we eat our breakfast.

Rise up this mornin',
Smiled with the risin' sun,
Three little birds
Pitch by my doorstep
Singin' sweet songs
Of melodies pure and true,
Sayin', This is my message to you-ou-ou

Singin' Don't worry 'bout a thing,

'Cause every little thing gonna be all right.
Singin' Don't worry 'bout a thing,
'Cause every little thing gonna be all right! ~Bob Marley

Here are a few photos..couldn't capture them myself but found the various flavors online :)

And my favorite...hummingbirds! Ever since we have put the sugar water feeder out, they have come and allowed us to enjoy observing them.

It is amazing what you can observe and see when we slow down a bit. I am grateful for that reminder this morning.

"When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives mean the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a warm and tender hand. The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing and face with us the reality of our powerlessness, that is a friend who cares."

~Henri Nouwen
